Tandem OLED
Two-stack OLED — brighter, longer-lasting than single-stack.
Tandem OLED stacks two emissive OLED layers separated by a charge-generation layer. Each layer can run at half-brightness for the same total output, doubling lifespan and reducing burn-in risk. The 2024 iPad Pro and BMW i7 use tandem OLED for ~2x peak brightness vs single-layer at the same panel longevity. Production cost is roughly double, so currently flagship-only.
