Methodology

How the Specdex score is calculated

Every device is scored against a weighted rubric of real-world and synthetic benchmarks — Geekbench 6, 3DMark, battery drain tests, display colorimetry, and camera IQ scoring. We blend those metrics with long-term reliability data, then publish the full recipe on our methodology page.

Frequently asked

Is Specdex free to use? +

Yes. Every review, benchmark and comparison on Specdex is free. We earn a small commission on affiliate links — never on editorial scores.

How often are scores refreshed? +

Every quarter. When a device ships a major firmware update we re-run its affected benchmarks within 14 days.

Can I compare any two devices? +

Yes — pick any two products from any of our 33 categories (CPUs, GPUs, phones, laptops, headphones, TVs, cameras, drones, routers and more). Cross-category comparison (e.g. phone vs laptop) is coming soon.

Where does the benchmark data come from? +

A mix of our own lab tests and aggregated results from Geekbench, 3DMark, GFXBench and DXOMARK, normalized against a reference device.
