Favorites and recent products use browser storage. Price watches and their alert inbox are stored on our server. A random, HttpOnly cookie connects this browser to those records; the database stores a hash of the cookie, not your name or email. Clearing the cookie removes your access to those watches.

You can remove price watches from the watchlist. Price alert records expire after one year. Price observations are retained only within the connected provider’s permitted retention window.

We record aggregate events such as completed comparisons, searches with no results, saved-product clicks and retailer clicks. These event records do not contain search text, names, email addresses or persistent visitor identifiers. To limit automated requests, we store a salted digest of the connecting IP address and minute for up to two minutes, without storing the address itself in our database. Hosting infrastructure may process connection information to deliver and secure requests.

Following a retailer link takes you to that retailer’s site and privacy terms. Commercial links are labeled. No email or browser push alerts are sent by this version of Specdex.
