Wi-Fi 6

802.11ax — multi-user, denser networks.

Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) introduced OFDMA (sub-channel allocation), MU-MIMO uplink, and 1024-QAM modulation. Real-world peak: ~1.5 Gbps on a single client; the bigger win is per-client throughput in dense networks (apartments, offices). Wi-Fi 6E added the 6 GHz band (2021), and Wi-Fi 7 (2024+) pushes the same band wider with 320 MHz channels.
