OLED burn-in
Permanent uneven aging of OLED pixels under sustained static content.
OLED pixels emit light by passing current through organic compounds. Sustained current causes the compounds to age and dim — a static UI element (taskbar, channel logo) burns a darker silhouette into the panel over months. Modern panels mitigate via pixel-shift, logo dimming, and panel-refresh cycles. Real-world risk in 2026 is low for varied content, moderate for fixed gaming HUDs, high for kiosks/dashboards displaying the same image 12+ hours/day.
