LiDAR
Time-of-flight depth sensor using laser pulses.
LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) uses pulses of laser light and measures the time-of-flight to compute depth. On iPhone Pro and iPad Pro it enables instant AR placement, faster low-light autofocus, and accurate room scanning. Range on consumer LiDAR is ~5 m; resolution is much lower than the optical camera (it samples a sparse depth grid, not a full point cloud).
