HDR10

Open HDR baseline with static metadata.

HDR10 is the open-license HDR floor format, mandatory on every HDR-capable display. It uses static metadata (one tone-mapping target for the whole movie) and 10-bit color. Most streaming HDR content ships at minimum as HDR10. The dynamic-metadata upgrades — Dolby Vision and HDR10+ — both fall back to HDR10 on incompatible displays.
