Foveated rendering
GPU optimization that renders peripheral vision at lower quality.
Foveated rendering uses eye-tracking to render the center of your gaze at full quality and the periphery at reduced quality — exploiting the fact that human vision falls off sharply outside the fovea. Vision Pro, Quest 3 Pro, and PSVR 2 all use foveated rendering to roughly 2× their effective performance. Without eye tracking, "fixed foveation" applies a static gradient that's less efficient but still helpful.
